BRIDGEPORT, CT – The City of Bridgeport Department of Health & Social Services will host a free Community Conversation on Extreme Heat and Air Quality on Wednesday, August 19, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Newfield Branch Library, 755 Central Avenue.
The event will focus on how extreme heat and poor air quality can affect the health and well-being of Bridgeport residents. Participants will have an opportunity to learn about the connection between climate, air quality, and public health, as well as ways to stay safe and protect their families during periods of extreme heat.
Residents will also be able to ask questions, share their experiences, and take part in a broader discussion about environmental challenges affecting Bridgeport neighborhoods and ways to help build a healthier and more resilient community.
Light refreshments will be provided.
The event is hosted by the City of Bridgeport Department of Health & Social Services in partnership with Park City Communities, with funding and support through the CDC Building Resilience Against Climate Effects (BRACE) Program, the Connecticut Department of Public Health, and the Yale Center for Climate Change and Health.
Residents are encouraged to attend, get informed, ask questions, and be part of the conversation.
