First responders are on scene to a reported shooting that occurred around the area of 500 Laurel Ave and 100 Grove Street in Bridgeport. There is at least one victim who was shot possibly in the hip according to initial unconfirmed radio reports. This is an actively developing story, we will pass along any updates as soon as we get them.

UPDATE:
The Bridgeport Police Department is actively investigating a shooting on the West Side of the city that happened around 4:00 p.m. today and left several persons injured. Early reports indicate that all of the victims are juveniles. The full extent of their injuries is not known at this time.

The department received a ShotSpotter Activation in the area of Laurel Avenue and Grove Street at around 4:00 p.m. The dispatch center simultaneously received 911 calls about the shootings there.

The Patrol Division and the Detective Bureau are actively attempting to locate the shooter, who initially who fled on foot. A crime scene has been established. As of 4:30 p.m., the department is advising the public to avoid the area.

This is an on-going investigation. More details will be released when they are available.
