#Bridgeport, CT – Sept 20, 2013 – A Hancock Avenue man faces larceny and drug charges as a result of a police investigation into a stolen scooter.

On Wednesday shortly before 5 p.m., Officer Adam Roscoe responded to Benham AvenueWednesday on a report of a stolen scooter. He received a description of the moped and suspect.

Then at 9:47 p.m., Roscoe learned that police had conducted a motor vehicle stop involving a scooter on Poplar Street, about a dozen blocks from the theft. He responded and encountered Sgt. James Myers and Anthony Gianpoalo  interviewing a male and female. Roscoe checked the vehicle identification number on the scooter, which appeared to be freshly painted, and it matched the stolen one.

Police placed Dovante Gray-Brown under arrest and, upon searching him, discovered several baggies that tested positive for cocaine.

He was charged with third-degree larceny, interfering with police, possession of narcotics, criminal trover and motor vehicle charges.
