#Bridgeport, CT – April 1, 2014 – A traffic stop led to a drug arrest Monday after an officer observed a snipped straw with white residue by her feet.

Officer Adam Roscoe observed a vehicle double parked and blocking traffic on East Main drug userStreet at5:45 p.m. Roscoe ran the license plate number and learned that the car was unregistered.

After a passenger exited the car and, as the motorist started driving away, Roscoe pulled her over.

After seeing the short straw, an item often used for snorting narcotics, Roscoe asked the driver if she had anything else he needed to know about. She stated that she had a tin container in her pocket that contained pills. Police recovered the item and recovered numerous white pills that tested positive as narcotic painkillers. Venzinia Colon, 40, of Bridgeport, was charged with various drug offenses. Her bond was set at $10,000.
