In a story we reported live as it was happening, here are the details from police:

#Bridgeport, CT  — April 11, 2014 – A city man was arrested Thursday in connection with a carjacking.  Officer Mark Martocchio was flagged down shortly after 7 p.m. by a person who stated that he had been carjacked. The victim, a 20-year-old city man, stated that he stopped at the intersection of Wood Avenue and Olive Street when a male with a gun got into his passenger seat and demanded his possessions. A second male opened the driver’s door and ordered him out of the vehicle.

The victim surrendered a small amount of cash, his phone, his car keys and designer belt. The victim ran and flagged down Martocchio.  While the victim was speaking with Officer Matthew GoncalvesOfficer Damien Csech located the victim’s vehicle on Norman Street.

Police subsequently located the person matching the description of one of the suspects and detained him. The victim identified him as one of the robbers.  Goncalves told the victim that the suspect may or may not be one of the assailants and that police would continue to look for suspect whether or not the victim identified the person. The victim was shown the suspect and stated he was certain that he was one of the assailants.

Zalvera Harrison, 18, was charged with carjacking, first-degree robbery, second-degree larceny, conspiracy and breach of peace. His bond was set at $50,000. The investigation is ongoing.
