A protective hose line was stretched by Engine 4. Rescue 3 and Engine 2 set up for extrication of the passenger using hydraulic rescue tools. The driver was removed from the vehicle and placed into EMS care. Eversource was notified of the damage to the pole and responded to check the integrity of the utilities. Fire Department units cleared the scene at 5:32pm once the vehicle had been removed from the scene.

We would like to remind everyone to make sure that their seatbelts are securely fastened prior to driving or riding in a vehicle. Children should not sit in the front seats until at least age thirteen. All young children should be securely fastened in the rear of the vehicle in the appropriate car safety seat.
