UPDATE: Police say a senior citizen man filling an air mattress with Fixaflat with a candle burning in the room.  According to Wikipedia, Fixaflat type products contain butane.   Police said the butane in the product was ignited by the candle causing an explosion.  The fire department did not return our e-mails inquiring about this incident.  Police Chief AJ Perez told News 12’s Frank Recchia “This man is lucky to be alive.“

 

 

6:49pm—#Bridgeport CT– One person was hospitalized after a small explosion in a bedroom in a home in the 100 block of Beechwood Avenue.  The extent of the person’s injuries is not known at this time.  The fire marshal was called to the scene to investigate the cause.
