His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Bridgeport News: 26 New Police Recruits Sworn In

#Bridgeport CT-- Today Mayor Joe Ganim swore in 26 new recruits.  During the mayors campaign he promised to hire one hundred new recruits, this will bring the total to ninety.  The mayor told me that public safety is the only department that was not affected by last year's budget cuts.  During his state of the city address this afternoon he said he wants more officers on foot patrol.   The recruits will train for about six months at the police academy located on Newfield Avenue in Bridgeport.  The recruits will train for another six months on the street with seasoned officers.

Bridgeport News: Pressure Cooker Left In Front Of Goodfella’s

10:55pm--#Bridgeport CT-- What was thought to be a pressure cooker left out in front of Goodfella's Pizza at 3725 Madison Avenue turned out to be a crock pot and was found to be harmless. A police officer was first called to investigate and he said the pot appeared to be empty but did not want to touch it. Firefighters were called in. Police found that there was surveillance video next door at the BP gas station. It appeared that someone had a flat tire, emptied the contents of their trunk to get to the spare tire. #Bridgeport CT--Today at noon Mayor Joseph Ganim, with a number of his family members looking on gave his state of the city report to the business community to the Bridgeport Regional Business Council at the Holiday Inn.  Before his speech a one minute video was shown touting the city's accomplishments since last year.  The mayor than walked to the podium to a standing ovation.  The mayor said he presented to the city council last week a balanced budget for the next year that unlike last year has no tax increase.  The mayor said "the state of our city is strong" and then proceeded to announcing the plan to bring a Dave and Buster's restaurant to Steel Point, new movie theaters…

Fairfield Fire Department Promotions & New Hire

#Fairfield CT--The Fairfield Fire Department held a swearing in ceremony for newly promoted Assistant Chief Roger Caisse, Lieutenant Kevin Polcer and new firefighter Justin Crawford on April 5, 2017 at ceremony conducted at fire headquarters at 140 Reef Road.
