DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Monroe/Trumbull News: Police Pursuit Terminated

10:55pm--#Monroe Connecticut--#Trumbull Connecticut-- A police pursuit that for a Subaru Outback originating in the Main Street Monroe area down Route 25 south has been broken off by police.  The pursuit continued on the Merritt Parkway south and terminated in the Westfield Trumbull Mall area.  Fairfield Police located and then lost the vehicle in the Tunxis Hill Road area near Kohls.   This news report is made possible by:

State Police Holiday Stats So Far

MIDDLETOWN, CT (November 25, 2016): The Connecticut State Police are supplementing the normal patrol force with additional State Troopers throughout this Thanksgiving Holiday weekend.  The increased patrols began at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, 11/23/2016, and will conclude at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday 11/27/2016. Troopers are patrolling the roads and highways across Connecticut focusing on drunken driving violations and aggressive drivers. Bridgeport News: Structure Fire

12:02am--#Bridgeport Connecticut--Police were first on the scene at a structure fire at 135 Beach Street.  They helped get the get the residence out of the building before firefighters arrived.  Some of the police did inhale smoke but no one was treated at the scene.  The fire started in the basement and firefighters quickly put it out.  The Red Cross was called to help find lodging for three adults according to radio reports.
