DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Fairfield–Free Solar Workshop Offered to Fairfield Residents on Tuesday, May 17th

#Fairfield’s Clean Energy Task Force announced that a solar workshop will take place on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at Osborn Hill Elementary School, 760 Stillson Road, Fairfield. The Task Force, in conjunction with SmartPower, has been hosting free solarize workshops where residents can learn how they can save money and energy while reducing their environmental impact with a solar installation on their homes. Westport Police Standoff Ends Peacefully

(Westport) This morning, at approximately 10:00am, Westport Officers responded to a Richmondville Avenue address on a minor civil dispute. Upon Officer’s arrival, the residents, Kyle and Carrie Owen, were in the driveway. Kyle and Carrie then retreated into the home and did not allow Officers to enter. Kyle then came to the door holding a hatchet and refused to come outside. Kyle was yelling and swearing at Officers and was seen walking aggressively in the house. It was determined that Kyle and Carrie were in the home with their juvenile child. Officers immediately set up a perimeter on the house and evacuated neighbors to safety.
