33rd annual Bridgeport Area Retired Firefighters Memorial Service
On Tuesday June 14, 2016 the Westport Fire Department hosted the 33rd annual Bridgeport Area Retired Firefighters Memorial Service at the Church of the Assumption at 7:00 pm. The event is preceded by a short parade (kicking off at 6:45 pm from the Saugatuck School) which is led by the Connecticut Firefighters Pipes and drums and followed by the area fire departments and their retirees. This event recognizes those members who have given the “ultimate sacrifice” having died in the line of duty and also remembering those members who have passed away during the past year.
Westport News: Picking Up Child From School Intoxicated
On 05/05/16, Victoria Lieber appeared intoxicated as she picked up her juvenile child from school. Westport Officers followed up at Lieber’s residence where Lieber smelled of an alcoholic beverage. Lieber failed the field sobriety tests given by the Officers. It was also determined that Lieber threatened the juvenile while driving in the car. A warrant was submitted to Norwalk Court at that time. On 06/09/16, Lieber turned herself in for the active warrant for Risk of Injury to a Minor. Trumbull K-9 Passes Unexpectedly
I'm sad to report that Trumbull's K-9 Cyrus passed away unexpectedly this morning. Cyrus joined Trumbull Police in 2011 after he and was partnered Officer RJ Carlson.
Fairfield News: Theater Manager Upset Over Exposure
12:39pm--#Fairfield Connecticut-- Manager Nick at Fairfield Cinemas on Black Rock Turnpike was upset over an overexposure. He says he had an argument with a delivery driver who then allegedly exposed himself to the manager. Police are investigating. No word if it was a mini-series or a double feature....
#Westport Connecticut---On 06/09/16 at approximately 7:00pm, Westport Officers were dispatched to Exxon, 1510 Post Road East, on a report that a male and female ttempted to make a large cigarette purchase using a fraudulent credit card. The store clerk immediately recognized the suspects as they attempted a similar purchase a week earlier. The suspects left the store prior to police arrival. Officers located the suspect’s vehicle a short time later in the Shake Shack parking lot unoccupied. Officers located the suspects, Geraldy Beraud and Aliyah Somerville inside the restaurant. Officers then located several credit cards with Beraud’s and Somerville’s names on them in the Shake Shack bathroom garbage. These cards were determined to be fraudulent. State Police Detectives Seize Weapons, Cash, and Narcotics
#Bridgeport, CT. (June 14, 2016): State Police Detectives from the Statewide Narcotics Task Force - Southwest office (SNTF-SW) and the Statewide Urban Violence & Cooperative Crime Control Task Force (SUVCCC) seized firearms, narcotics and cash after serving a Search and Seizure warrant in Bridgeport. On June 13, 2016 detectives from the SNTF-SW and SUVCCC conducted surveillance on an apartment at 182 Hanover St. in Bridgeport after receiving intelligence information that the resident, William Akeem Hooks, was trafficking assault rifles and other firearms that were being obtained from southern states along the east coast. While conducting surveillance detectives witnessed Hooks conduct the sale of a firearm. The firearm, a GSG-522 .22 caliber rifle with a pistol grip and silencer, is classified as an assault rifle and was seized…
