DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Fairfield News: Town Not Shellfish About Clam Clinic

First Selectman Tetreau announced that the Town of Fairfield’s Shellfish Commission will host a clam clinic event at Sasco Hill Beach on June 20, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for local residents to learn about Fairfield’s natural shellfish resources. “This event provides an opportunity for Fairfield residents, including children, to experience the basics of harvesting shellfish while learning the importance of Fairfield’s natural shellfish ecosystem,” said Robert Bilek, Chairman of the Shellfish Commission. Participants will be taught harvesting techniques and can keep their own catch. Gear, including clam rakes and gauges, will be provided if needed.
