DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

When I arrived about six minutes after hearing the call the 2nd floor and attic were fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters were already on scene and had begun an impressive interior attack that kept the fire confined to the second floor. I met with the first floor occupants, 3 males who made it out safely. They told me 3 other males, no children lived on the second floor. They were uncertain if they made it out. I kept checking with EMS and I'm happy to report they were not busy. Within…

Bridgeport News: Police Locate Homeless Man With 4 Year Old

2:47am--#Bridgeport CT--Police working with leads from Department of Children and Families locate a homeless man with his 4 year old child on Main Street near Thompson Street.  They were located after pinging the man's cellphone.  EMS dispatched to check out the child.  I'm happy to report from radio reports that police are treating the man with dignity and respect.   The homeless man was fearful of losing his child if located. Please pray for a positive, loving outcome in this situation.

Bridgeport News: 2 Crashes

UPDATE: Police were initially dispatched for a person who allegedly took pills in a suicide attempt.  This person then took off in his car causing these accidents.  He came to a stop after crashing at North Bishop Avenue.  An off duty Norwalk Police Officer kept the man on scene. 7:54pm--#Bridgeport CT--There are two crashes to report, both with injuries.  The first one is Boston and Success Avenue where two ambulances have been requested to the scene.  A second crash is just down North Bishop Avenue.  Uncertain if they are related.  Avoid the area.   This report sponsored by:
