DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Bridgeport News: 63 Pets Removed From Goddard Ave. Home

#Bridgeport CT-- Earlier this week police were called to a Goddard Avenue home for a person deceased in the home.  Police had discovered a large amount of animals in the home and removed 12 pets, dogs and cats from the home.  Today they returned with detectives, DCF and Animal Control and removed another 63 pets, dogs and cats from the home.  They also brought the remaining resident to the hospital for evaluation.  I intentionally left the house number out of the report for privacy of the resident.   This report sponsored by:

Fairfield News: 90 Year Old Man Found Unresponsive Dies

UPDATE: Sad to report the man who was found by his friend under his pickup truck has died.  CTPost has a touching story about his fate here: http://www.ctpost.com/news/article/Elderly-man-found-unresponsive-under-truck-6130120.php #Fairfield CT--Just before noon Fairfield police and firefighters were called to 3800 Black Rock Turnpike for an approximately 90 year old man unresponsive underneath his pickup truck in his garage. Assistant Fire Chief Scott Bisson told me he was not pinned under the truck but he was bleeding from the head. Milford News: Fire Systems Prevent CT Post Mall Fire

11:30pm--#Milford CT--Firefighters were called to an activated fire alarm at the Connecticut Post Mall at 1201 Boston Post Road.  The first alarm they discovered at a store at called Route 21, a water flow alarm.  Firefighters discovered the sprinkler system was activated.  After further investigation they discovered there was a stove fire at Carrabba's which caused the sprinkler systems to activate and put out the fire.   This report sponsored by:
