His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Bridgeport Fire Department To Deliver Pizzas

#Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Bill Finch and the city Fire Department again are partnering with Domino’s Pizza in an effort to save lives through the city’s free smoke alarm program. On Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014,  city firefighters will be delivering pizzas ordered from the Main Street restaurant. If the customer can show he or she has working smoke detectors in the house, the order will be free. If they don’t, the fire department will install free smoke detectors on the spot – and the customer’s order will be free. Over the last decade, the department in partnership with  non-profit RYASAP has installed more than 42,000 free smoke detectors in city homes. “Our smoke detector program has absolutely saved lives,” said Mayor Bill Finch.…

1:15am--#cttraffic--#Fairfield CT--One car crash I-95 northbound near North Benson Road a one car crash with injuries.  UPDATE: 1:50am--The highway is back open after being closed for about a half hour.  The second vehicle that allegedly fled the scene stopped his/her car near exit 24 walked down to the Edge Fitness Center then was found lying in a yard at the corner of Longview and Harris Street. Bridgeport News: Two Men Arrested in Street Robbery

#Bridgeport, CT – Aug. 22, 2014 – Two men face charges in connection with a street robbery that occurred late Thursday. Officer Martin Pizighelli spoke with one of the victims on Iranistan Avenue. The victim said he was robbed in Went Field Park and provided a description of the robbers. He said one was armed with a gun and that the suspects made off with his iPhone and cash. Pizighelli checked the area with the victim and spotted the suspects in the area of Olive Street and Park Avenue.   The officer and victim drove past as Pizighelli called for additional officers.
