#Bridgeport, CT – July 30, 2014 – A city teen faces charges after a street robbery on Center StreetTuesday. Officer Raymond Ryan was on patrol when he observed a young male on a red bicycle riding past him. A short distance later, the officer was flagged down by a man who stated he had just been robbed by two males. One, the victim stated, was riding a red bicycle. Ryan checked the area and observed the male on a red bike and detained him. The juvenile stated he didn’t know anything about a robbery and stated that he was on probation for a robbery and assault. Officers Laura Azevedo-Rasuk and David Santiago responded to 598 Park St. on a report of a domestic assault Tuesday. The victim stated the incident involved her ex-husband, who resides with her. She told police that they argued when he arrived home from work and asked for his bottles of beer. She told him that she drank them. She told police that she, in reality, discarded them because her ex-husband gets violent when he drinks. Turns out it was batteries near the elevator/conveyor belt area over charging. The batteries were bubbling over and releasing hydrogen sulfate into the air.
