DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Bridgeport News: Man Inappropriately Touches 5 Year Old

11:00pm--#Bridgeport CT--Police were dispatched to the White Eagle Club at 595 East Washington Avenue for an older man who inappropriately touched a 5 year old.  He is currently being held by security.   EMS was dispatched to the club for an assault, no word if it was for the victim or the suspect. UPDATE:   I believe EMS was dispatched for both the victim who was a girl and the suspect. The girl's parents refused medical assistance and another person was transported to the hospital. Intoxicated Scoreboard

#Fairfield CT--#FairfieldU--Fairfield University continues to dominate all other universities this week scoring their second score within the hour, first with an alleged intoxicated male at Jogues Hall.  EMS got a two'fer with a hypertensive person in the same room but did not credit with a score on that one.  They followed up with an alleged  intoxicated 18 year old female in Gonzaga Hall just now taking the early 2-0 lead. 12:37am-- UPDATE: 3-0 Fairfield U 19 year old female allegedly intoxicated in the 8 block of the townhouses. 1:00am--Several reports of fighting between Sacred Heart students fighting at Maybrook and Old Town Road. Bridgeport News: Police Investigate 10th Homicide

UPDATE:  jjust before 9:30 p.m., officers responded to a call of an injured person in front of 83 Seeley Street  When they arrived, they found the victim, Ivan Rodriguez Mendez, 51, lying in the road in a large pool of blood. He was pronounced dead at the scene. According to witnesses, the victim had gotten into an altercation with one or more individuals.  One suspect is reported to have had a knife and several shots were fired during the incident. At this time, investigators have not determined if the victim was shot or stabbed. His cause of death will be determined at the autopsy which is scheduled for Monday.
