DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

5:40pm--#Bridgeport CT--A tenant at the Cambridge Apartments at 2209 Main Street called police that someone they know came into their apartment and stole a wine glass.  They also requested to see only a black police officer.  Bridgeport Police File #240 because you just can't make this stuff up...... Westport CT- The Westport Police were advised by the first Selectman’s Office early this morning that a resident had received an email purportedly from the Town of Westport requesting that he update his credit card information to facilitate online payments made to the town. The resident questioned the validity of the email and an investigation discovered that it was not affiliated in any way with the Town of Westport and appears to be an attempt to obtain Credit Card information from individuals. These type of emails is referred to commonly as a “Phishing email”. At this point police are attempting to locate the origins of the email and are reminding residents that the Town has never and does not request financial or personal information in unsolicited emails.
