His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Norwalk News: Fatal Accident – Witnesses Sought

#Norwalk CT-- On July 21, 2023, at 9:58 p.m. Norwalk Combined Dispatch received reports of an accident involving a car and a moped at the intersection of Maple Street and Van Buren Avenue. Norwalk Police Officers responded to the scene and located two vehicles, a moped and an Infiniti SUV. The operator of the moped was transported to Norwalk Hospital with significant injuries and was later pronounced deceased at Norwalk Hospital. The operator of the second vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. Fairfield News: Grant To Help Remediate Contaminated Site

Sen. Tony Hwang (R-Fairfield) today applauded the announcement of a $3,000,000 state grant to remediate the vacant 4.9-acre, former Bullard Machine Tool Company site at 81 Black Rock Turnpike. This project will enable a transit-oriented development/mixed-use development that will include 240 residential units (including 20% affordable at 80% area median income), ancillary retail, co-working, and public amenity space. “Cleaning up this site and putting it to productive use is a win-win situation for Fairfield,” Sen. Hwang said. “This project is good for the environment, it will create jobs, and it will create new and affordable housing with an emphasis on transit-oriented development. Bridgeport News: Teen Shot

On July 20, 2023, at approximately 8:05 pm a ShotSpotter activation occurred within the 500 block of Trumbull Avenue (9 rounds fired - BPD CFS 23-58860).    A short time later a 16-year-old Stratford teen presented at an area hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.  This is reported to be a non-life-threatening injury.  The victim was transported to the hospital via private vehicle.  The victim’s parent/guardian has been notified and responded to the hospital. No further information at this time. Norwalk News: 2 Arrested In Home Invasion

On the morning of July 12, 2023, two Norwalk residents were taken into custody following their involvement in several cases of burglary, robbery, and home invasion. On May 22, 2023, a residence on Lexington Avenue was burglarized, cash was taken, and a television and other items were damaged. A report was filed with the Norwalk Police Department on the following day. On May 24, 2023, a home invasion occurred at the same address and was reported to investigators the next day. During this incident, two men entered the residence, and cash was taken at gunpoint, as well as a jacket. Gas Station Robbery Arrests Norwalk Police Officers locate and arrest a robbery suspect within 30 minutes of receiving the 911 call for help. On July 18, 2023, at approximately 8:24 p.m., Norwalk Police Department Combined Dispatch received a call advising that a black male had just entered a gas station on Connecticut Avenue displaying a knife, demanded cigarettes and a lighter, then left the store on foot. Norwalk Police Officers discovered that there were unlocked doors in a commercial building nearby, prompting a check within. #Bridgeport CT-- On April 17, 2023, Detectives from the Bridgeport Police Homicide Squad confirmed with law enforcement agencies in Ohio (Cuyahoga County PD & Solon PD) they had in their custody Ainsley Forbes. Ainsley Forbes, also known as (aka) Derrick Francis, is wanted out of Bridgeport CT for the April 6, 2023, murder of Brianna McKoy. In addition to this extraditable warrant, Francis also faces gun charges in Ohio. Solon Ohio Police Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop in their jurisdiction where Francis was observed fleeing the vehicle on foot. Driver Of Truck That Leaked Human Waste on I-95 Causing A Pile Up Arrested

#Bridgeport CT--On the evening of July 17, 2023, at approximately 10:33 PM, the Connecticut State Police received a report of a hazardous situation on the northbound lanes of Interstate 95, specifically between exit 27 and exit 30. The incident involved a large semi-truck that was observed leaking an unidentified substance from its trailer onto the roadway. This resulted in a dangerously slick surface, leading to multiple motor vehicle accidents in the same area. The Bridgeport Police Department is looking to identify the female in the attached images who pickpocketed an elderly man of his lottery winnings on July 4th. The suspect passed the victim as he was leaving the Gulf Express gas station at 1598 Capitol Ave. on July 4th. and stole his wallet containing several hundred dollars in lottery winnings out of his back pants pocket. The female suspect then fled in a red Hyundai driven by a male with a bald head.
