Post Road near Chef's Table remains closed after a smoky fire filled the 1555 block of shops. Initial radio reports said there was smoke in the rear of Engravers World. Chef's Table did get some smoke in their building but should be one of the first to repopen after an inspection from the health department. There were no reported injuries. UPDATE--Post road has re-0pened, one lane going northbound and two southbound. Use caution in the area.

4:47pm#Fiarfield CT--- Fairfield HazMat Technicians made entry and found a small amount of 65% Nitric Acid on the floor, counter and sink and two open containers. The Entry Team replaced the tops on the containers and wiped up the product using Chemsorb pads, placing all within the hood system, according to HazMat Operations Officer A/C Schuyler Sherwood. The Entry Team left the building at 5:19pm, and Connecticut Tank Removal was called by SHU officials to remove remaining product and absorbent materials from the lab. “Unfortunately we needed to secure the first and second floors of the SC Wing while entry was being made to ensure that the atmosphere was not contaminated,” explained Sherwood. 5:29pm--#Westport CT--First responders on the way to Saugautck Elementary School's gym at 170 Riverside Avenue for a 6 year old with a head laceration.
5:22pm--#Stratford CT-- Firefighters quickly extinguished a small fire at 425 Benton Street.
5:00pm--#Bridgeport CT--#cttraffic--Police pursuit 8/25 northbound. Now Route 25 North exit 7, he threw something out the window. The pursuit went on to Route 25 into Trumbull then through Fairfield before Bridgeport stopped pursuing. The driver was apprehended by state police on the Merritt Parkway near exit 41.
We have had two attempts to take over two of our e-mail accounts today. One on Google and another on Yahoo! In both cases we did have to change the passwords. The attacks seem to be coming from Naples Florida.
2:55pm--#Fairfield CT-- Firefighters and Hazmat teams have been dispatched to Sacred Heart University Science Building at 5151 Park Avenue. A chemical spill of a gallon of Sulfuric Nitric acid mixture at Sacred Heart at 5151 Park Ave has left the building evacuated. Hazmat is on the way. EMS on scene to evaluate a couple students possibly exposed.
