DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Anti-Gang Program Kicks off in Bridgeport Schools (Bridgeport, CT – Nov. 5, 2013) – The Police Department will introduce a gang reduction program in five city schools aimed at giving children the tools to resist the lure of gangs. The GREAT program will launch in January at Wilbur L. Cross School, Curiale School, Dunbar School, Roosevelt School and Luis Munoz Marin School. Video game promo draws Fairfield Police response

4:49pm--#Fairfield CT--Multiple police were dispatched to the Game Stop on Black Rock Turnpike for a man with a gun.  As police were on the way it was thought to be a toy gun according to the caller.  Police taking no chances approached the scene with caution with assault weapons at the ready.  Police confirmed it was a man in costume for the the promotional release of the video game Call of Duty -Ghost.  The man hired by the store for the promotion remained on scene, too shaken to talk to us.  The manager asked me to leave the store offering no insight to the thinking on this promotion.
