Walk a Mile in her Shoes is a walk with a purpose: To focus attention on domestic violence and sexual assault. It is the first event of the White Ribbon Campaign, an initiative of The Center for Women and Families of Eastern Fairfield County, the lifeline for victims of domestic violence, child abuse and sexual assault who live in Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Monroe, Stratford and Trumbull. Unions surprised Finch seeks concessions again
BRIDGEPORT -- In Mayor Bill Finch's first term, he squeezed more than $20 million in concessions from the city's labor unions. Now, in his second term, he's asking for even more. But union leaders, who had no advance notice of the $1.6 million in concessions factored into the 2013-14 budget unveiled Tuesday, say there isn't much left to give.
