Missing Dog Was Never Stolen
“My wife had given her away, unbeknownst to me,”said husband/owner William Novotny said. The family had recently moved to a condo from a single-family home. His wife has some health problems and felt the family could no longer properly care for Bella. Novotny said his wife knew he would oppose giving the animal away — so she secretly placed an ad on Craigslist and offered the dog for free. She then concocted the Home Depot story as a cover, he said. Once he found out, he contacted the family who had Bella and said he gave them $750 for the dog’s return. Geoff Fox moving to California
Geoff Fox, the popular Connecticut weatherman who fell from grace, is heading west. Fox and his wife, Helaine, have put their 3,367-square-foot colonial on the market and plan to move to Southern California to be closer to their daughter, Stefanie, who works in TV production in Hollywood — and because they’re done dealing with winter, Fox said Monday. Finch raises taxes in Bridgeport– blames Governor Malloy

Report of smoke condition in Trumbull
2:50am–#Trumbull CT #ctfire–Firefighters were called to 14 Hedgehog Circle for an odor of smoke. No answer at the door and possible forced entry to be made. UPDATE– Home is filled with smoke due to burnt food. All occupants safely out of the house.
2nd Robbery on Same Street
1:38am–#Bridgeport CT–A second robbery just occurred on Washington Terrace. A man was sitting in his car when a man came up and slashed his tires then robbed him of $40. Earlier a person was robbed by a known person on Washington Terrace.
Funds Cut To Pequot Library
Town of Fairfield Board of Finance cuts full funding of Pequot Library! “This is unbelievable I am shocked” said RTM Eric Sunman in a tweet tonight, “Pequot Library will face closure now that the Board of Finance says no”.
Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road?
7:15pm–#Bridgeport CT–Why did the chicken cross the road? I don’t know but police are on the way to Norland Avenue for a white chicken that keeps crossing the road into the complainants yard.
Gunman Dies After Being Shot By Bridgeport Police
9:44pm-#Bridgeport CT–A city police detective shot and wounded an armed suspect during a confrontation in The Hollow Monday night. The suspect later died at the hospital.
The incident happened near the corner of Pequonnock Street and Benham Avenue. The detective was inside Golfinho’s Fish Market when he was alerted to a report of a man with a rifle outside the establishment. The detective exited the store and observed the suspect armed with a long gun in a confrontation with two other people. The detective then drew his weapon.
The detective fired at least two shots and wounded the suspect, who fled on foot. He was located a short distance away. Police recovered a rifle at the scene.
Per protocol in police-involved shootings, the State Police were contacted and are handling the investigation. The department also alerted the Bridgeport State’s Attorney’s office, which responded to the scene.
