Tonight a man was attacked and pistol-whipped in the 200 block of Iranistan Avenue. The man was hit in the head and lost a significant amount of blood. Bridgeport News: Changes And Checkpoint Dates at City Parks

Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Ganim announced today that the City of Bridgeport's park checkpoints will reopen early weekends only starting Saturday, May 6th from 8am-4pm for residents to purchase park stickers (Credit Card only) in advance of Memorial Day weekend. Park Stickers can also be purchased Cash or Credit at our Parks & Recreation department located at 7 Quarry Rd, Trumbull, CT, Monday through Friday from 8am-4pm. Considering these changes, Bridgeport Police Department will be providing additional patrol cars on warm days and weekends. Park Enforcement officers will be used to keep people from parking outside of the park, as vehicles may be subject to fines. There will be an officer at each checkpoint in Seaside Park. Bridgeport News: Homicide Arrest

On April 17, 2023, Detectives from the Bridgeport Police Homicide Squad confirmed with law enforcement agencies in Ohio  (Cuyahoga County PD & Solon PD) they had in their custody Ainsley Forbes.  Ainsley Forbes, also known as (aka) Derrick Francis, is wanted out of Bridgeport CT for the April 6, 2023, murder of Brianna McKoy.    In addition to this extraditable warrant, Francis also faces gun charges in Ohio.  Solon Ohio Police Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop in their jurisdiction where Francis was observed fleeing the vehicle on foot.  Police engaged him in foot pursuit and made a quick apprehension.  A loaded firearm was found in the vehicle.  Francis is being held in Ohio as a fugitive from justice.  He is…
