Bridgeport News: Police Investigate City’s 22nd Homicide

Police Update: The city's 22nd homicide occurred last night at about 1917 hours when two armed men came to the Just Right Cutz barbershop at 500 Park Avenue and started an altercation that left Deon Rodney (DOB: 2/19/85 of 479 Wood Ave) shot in the abdomen. Rodney was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital, but did not survive. The motive for the shooting is still unknown and it is not clear if Rodney was the intended target. BLACKHAM SCHOOL IS HOSTING A PUBLIC SAFETY COMMUNITY FORUM FOR SCHOOLS IN THE NORTH END THURSDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2017 BLACKHAM SCHOOL 6:00pm in the GYMNASIUM We will have a meeting due to criminal activity, college parties, zoning, blight, noise issues and parking violations in the North End. In attendance will be BPT Police Chief AJ Perez other enforcement officers, zoning, housing, fire, public facilities, and traffic officials.
