Bridgeport News: Woman Shot By Stray Bullet While Sleeping

2:07am--#Bridgeport CT--This morning at approximately 0207 hours, dispatch received a call of shots fired into a home at 14 Lakeside Drive.   Upon arrival, BPD found a female victim inside the home had sustained a graze to the head.  A preliminary assessment was made that this was a non-life threatening injury as the victim was stable and transported to the hospital by EMT’s.   The victim is identified as Jamilivette Padilla, age 18.    Bridgeport Police and the Detective Bureau are working with Stratford PD on this matter and a related incident surrounding the circumstances of this shooting.     If anyone has further information on this matter, please call 203-576-TIPS. Bridgeport News: Ganim Freezes Spending/Hiring

BRIDGEPORT, CT – Mayor Joe Ganim today announced that the city and his administration are anticipating that the Governor’s Interim Budget Proposal will fall short up to $27 million dollars in municipal funds for the City of Bridgeport.   In wake of the uncertainty of financial funding from the state, the city will proceed cautiously with expenditures until the State budget is resolved.
