Bridgeport News: Police Investigate Two Homicides Overnight

Bridgeport, CT - This morning, at 0214 hours, Bridgeport Police officers were called to the scene of a neighbor dispute at 950/952 State Street that turned violent resulting in one man, being shot.  The male victim was located at Norman and Fremont Street and transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. While investigating that homicide, another fatal shooting occurred in the parking lot of 140 Alice Street at 0427 hours.  The victim, lived in the building.  The motive is not clear at this time, but there is no connection to the previous incident.  These are the 15th and 16th homicides this year. Bridgeport News: Fire At Black Rock Printing

9:27pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Firefighters were called to a dumpster fire at the Black Rock Print Shop at 3442 Fairfield Avenue in the Black Rock section of town. When firefighters arrived they found the dumpster was close to the building and the fire had extended to the building. Firefighters immediately called for more personnel and equipment. The fire had extended into the ceiling making access difficult. Multiple witness told me they heard fireworks just before the fire. The fire marshal was called to investigate. A family that lived in an apartment above the print shop safely escaped and will more than likely need the Red Cross to assist them in overnight housing. Bridgeport News: Woman Steals Deliver Van Engaging In Pursuit

#Bridgeport CT-- Thursday, 6/29--Mercedes Bruno, 26, of 163 Catherine St., Bridgeport, allegedly stole a sprinter delivery van from Junco's Meat Market on Harral Avenue around 6:30am Thursday morning.  She lead police on pursuit on I-95 ending in North Haven after hitting state police cars as well as several Bridgeport Police cars.  The pursuit continued onto I-91 northbound when she struck another state police car near exit 12 which caused her to lose control of the van and she crashed into a light pole knocking it over and ending the pursuit.  She was lead away in handcuffs with no further incident.   Bruno was charged with two counts of assault on public safety personnel, two counts of criminal attempt to commit…

Bridgeport News: Carjacking- Two In Custody In Fairfield

10:40pm--#Fairfield CT-- A resident on Coolidge Street (off Commerce Drive) called in a suspicious vehicle.  Fairfield Police recognized the car from the BOLO (Be On The Look Out) for the carjacking on Stratford Avenue.  It was a pizza delivery person that was robbed and jacked of his car.  Police have two in custody.   10:22pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A white Toyota was taken by force by three males at the intersection of Freeman and Stratford Avenue.  No weapon was displayed, the victim was reportedly beaten by the three.

Bridgeport News: Illegal Guns Seized

5:00AMish--#Bridgeport CT-- Around 5am this morning State Police Gang Task Force carried out a undercover investigation which netted several illegal handguns at 1335 Park Avenue.   One of those guns,  a 9mm handgun had the serial number had been filed off.  Police said there have been more murders this year than all of 2016 and they are hopeful that getting these guns off the street will help make a difference.  Police said convicted felons Larry Jackson and Reginal Chavis were arrested.
