Bridgeport News: NOT Mother Of The Year

Bridgeport Police Department Recovers Illegally Owned Firearm

#Bridgeport, Conn. (September 23, 2015) – Yesterday afternoon the Bridgeport Police Department arrested a Bridgeport man for illegal possession of a firearm after a routine traffic stop.   On September 22, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. police officers observed a grey Subaru station wagon on Fairfield Ave. with a broken brake light. Police officers ran the license plate and found that the plate was registered to a Honda Civic, not the Subaru. Police officers pulled the Subaru over on Laurel Ave. near the intersection with Norman St.   The driver, Josue Chavarria (08/26/90), was unable to provide valid registration or insurance papers for the vehicle.  Police officers had Chavarria step out of the vehicle and detained him in the back of the police…

(Press Release) – Today, the Bridgeport Police Department announced the opening of applications to the Citizens Police Academy, which is designed to give citizens an up-close understanding of the police department and its efforts to prevent and solve crime and protect citizens.. The goal of the Citizens Police Academy is to foster a better relationship between the community and the Bridgeport Police Department.   Graduates will gain a better understanding of the Bridgeport Police Department operation, develop an awareness for the challenges officers face, and insight into the decisions officers make on a daily basis.
