#Bridgeport, Conn. (September 16, 2015) -- The Bridgeport Police Department is investigating a motor vehicle accident involving a collision between a vehicle and a bicycle Wednesday afternoon. On September 16, 2015 at 2:05 p.m., police officers responded to a motor vehicle accident on South Ave. between the corner of Iranistan Ave. and Columbia St. Upon arrival on scene, police officers found a 2010 Toyota Prius had struck a bicycle being ridden by a ten-year-old female child. According to witnesses, a ten year old was riding a bike on the sidewalk, and then swerved out into the road where she was struck by the Prius. (September 17, 2015) – Yesterday evening the Bridgeport Police Department arrested a suspect in an open Bridgeport homicide case after a routine traffic stop turned into a motor vehicle pursuit. Cewell Sharpe (12/17/82) of Bridgeport is a possible suspect in an open homicide case. In connection with the motor vehicle pursuit, Sharpe was charged with operating with a suspended license, reckless driving, engaging in pursuit, failure to obey a stop sign, and violating conditions of a release. Here are two press releases from the City of Bridgeport: Bridgeport, Conn. (September 16, 2015) -- Today, Bridgeport Police Department responded to a 911 call regarding shots fired near the corner of Daniels Ave. and Trumbull Ave. Upon arrival at the reported scene, police officers did not find a victim or suspect. The location of the alleged incident is not too far from several schools, and, as a matter of precaution, following the 911 call about the alleged incident police called for a temporary lockdown of Hallen School, Park City Magnet School, and Wilbur Cross School. The lockdown at each school was lifted minutes after police arrived at the alleged scene only to find no trace of a victim or suspect. Detectives…
