Ganim Proposes Office of Public Integrity

#BRIDGEPORT  CT-- Today, former Bridgeport Mayor and 2015 mayoral candidate Joe Ganim unveiled a proposal to establish an Office of Public Integrity (OPI). The public’s interest in transparency and open government is a top priority for Ganim. Prompted in part by the recent cover up of crime statistics by the current administration, and the continued refusal to disclose the reevaluation numbers and hidden tax increases for the following calendar year, Ganim made the announcement for the OPI. Ganim says, “An Office of Public Integrity must be independent and nonpartisan. It should have jurisdiction to have oversight of all aspects of Bridgeport’s government operations, agencies, and authorities." Fairfield News: Pursuit Terminated in Bridgeport

5:44pm--#Fairfield CT--#Bridgeport CT--Fairfield Police were in pursuit of a white Infinity on the Post Road but broke it off after entering Bridgeport at Brewster Street.  Pursuit speeds reached speeds of 45mph.    Police wanted the suspects for shoplifting at Marshall's at 700 Post Road.  The plates came back to St. Stephen's Road in Bridgeport and police have found the car parked unoccupied at PT Barnum Housing building 14.   This report was made possible by: La policía de Fairfield estaban en búsqueda de un Infinity blanco en el camino del poste, pero rompió después de entrar en Bridgeport en Brewster Street. Bridgeport News; Heavy Police Due To New Chief

#Bridgeport CT--Earlier today Bridgeport Police Chief Gaudette along with the Make A Wish Foundation named Karla Hernandez honorary police chief for the day. A large motorcycle motorcade escorted the city's SWAT truck with Karla inside to Seaside Park for Karla to tour the stables and meet the mounted patrol. She also toured the park via ATV's and patrol car. Afterwards she visited Arthur's Famous Pizza on Park Avenue for dinner where she learned she will be gong to Disney World later this month. I will have a video report tomorrow. I moved this report up due to the many messages received regarding the heavy police presence!

Stratford News: Home Invasion

#Stratford CT--Early Tuesday morning at 2:30am Stratford Police were dispatched to a home on Birdseye Street for a report of a home invasion. The victims reported that male suspects entered the rear yard and pistol whipped two people on the outside deck and forcing them inside the home. Once inside the pistol whipped two more people and held them at gunpoint. The other suspect then ransacked the home removing jewelry, money and electronics and then fled. The Stratford Detective Bureau arrived on scene to follow up on leads. Two suspects were located at the local hotel at 360 Honeyspot Road and an apprehended by the detectives and police patrol. Bridgeport’s New Paving System (Video Report)

#Bridgeport CT--Last time I interviewed Jorge Garcia of the Bridgeport Public Facilities and he was showing off the Pot Hole Killer and how quickly it filled pot holes.  Now Jorge has discovered a new way to repave roads faster at a fraction of the cost of the traditional "mill and fill" system.  The new system not only recycles but is much faster.  Typically it takes a week to pave a road, the new system repaves the road in a day.  Off camera Jorge mentioned that this faster system does not inconvenience those that park on the street for the week as well.  The city is paving a historic 30 miles of roads this year.  This was recorded last week on…

Bridgeport News: Two-year-old in fair condition after being struck by vehicle

Bridgeport Police Press Release: #Bridgeport, Conn.
