Bridgeport News: Shots Fire On The Highway

1:30am–#cttraffic–#Bridgeport CT–State and Bridgeport Police are investigating an incident where shots fired were reported on Route 8/25.  The suspect vehicle got off exit 4 Lindley Street exit.  The victim thinks it was a white Malibu/Impala but is not positive, the round tail lights is why the victim believes it to be that make.

“Burning” Schools

12:11am–#Bridgeport CT– #Fairfield CT–Bridgeport Firefighters called to John Winthrop Middle School on Eckert Street for a fire, then the caller said it was in the back of the school.  Firefighters on scene can’t find anything.  At the same time Fairfield Firefighters were called to Fairfield University for a burning electrical outlet  outside Layola Gate.  Firefighters confirm they found a burning outlet in a mulch pile.

Bridgeport News: Shooting Victim

12:40am–#Bridgeport CT–A police officer at Bridgeport Hospital called in that a shooting victim has just arrived at the hospital, brought in by his nephew.  There were reports of earlier of shots fired near 540 Grand Street.  EMS just cautioned their drivers of one of the ambulance bays being closed off as a crime scene.  Police say they are looking for a gray Monte Carlo responsible for the shooting.

Bridgeport News: Deck Fire

11:38am—#Bridgeport CT–Firefighters were called to the condos at 2675 Park Avenue for back deck fire.  The fire was thought have been started by a gas grill.  Firefighters were very quick to the scene because they were already on the road with their ongoing Smoke Detector Awareness Program.  It is actually called the The “Safe Asleep” program which  began in 2005 as a partnership between the city fire department and RYASAP. Residents in need of smoke alarms can call 203-335-8835, and the fire department will install it for free.
