It’s Jay Piccirillo aka Ice Man from Micalizzi’s Italian Ices at 712 Madison Avenue in Bridgeport! Micalizzi’s is one of Bridgeport’s oldest existing business and landmark. They started in 1931 with the Piccirillo family taking over in 1977. Probably most famous for their awesome lemon Italian Ice or their piña colada ices, I sampled their canoli ice, needless to say it was awesome. Jay will be advertising throughout the summer the many flavors they have to choose from. What I did not know was they also have soft and hard ice cream and sundaes too! I’m pictured here with Jay with my all time favorite soft serve chocolate ice cream with chocolate sprinkles. Ooooh it was sooooo good!
3:17am–#Bridgeport News: Bridgeport Hospital just called police they have a gunshot victim who just arrived at the emergency room. Officers just dispatched, no details at this time.
5:35pm–#Bridgeport CT– Just after receiving a call of a house fire on Soundview Avenue firefighters were called for an overturned boat with people in the water off Govers Avenue at Black Rock Harbor. The fire boat and zodiac were launched and within a few moments the firefighters had the people rescued. There were actually two overturned boats. The one the people were onboard was already being towed by firefighters and was far off in the horizon even out of reach of my digital zoom. Special thanks to Garth Trotto for monitoring this situation while I covered the fire at Soundview Avenue.
5:29pm–#Bridgeport CT–Neighbors credit a fast response time by firefighters in keeping an apartment fire from spreading at 614 Soundview Avenue today. Firefighters were seeing venting the roof, the fire marshal was called to the scene to investigate the cause.
2:00am–#Bridgeport CT– #Stratford CT–Police from both Bridgeport and Stratford were chasing the same suspects in the Barnum/Hollister/Soundview area for a Grand Cherokee with a possible stolen ATM machine (redundant since the M in ATM stands for machine). Since I monitor multiple police radios at the same time I knew they were working on the same call and called both departments that I thought they are working the same call. They are now coordinating their info!

Treizy Lopez, 18, was arrested in West Haven by the US Marshall Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force and West Haven Police. He is charged with murder for the fatal shooting of store owner Jose Salgado on April 11.
2:05am–#cttraffic–#Stratford CT–#Bridgeport CT–A crash on I-95 southbound at exit 27 after a pursuit. All persons in custody. Traffic is a mess on both I-95 and Merritt Parkway. The car is now on fire. No one is in it, they be sittin’ in the police cruiser!
