#Bridgeport Police Arrest Suspect

“Officers reacted immediately and pursued the gunman on foot,” said Police Chief Joseph L. Gaudett Jr.  “Officers converged on the area and the suspect was quickly arrested hiding behind a house on Saunders Avenue. And, police recovered a handgun.”   Detectives arrested the suspect, identified as Gregory Weathers Jr., 33, of 449 Saunders Ave., for murder and gun charges.   At this time, no motive had been established. The suspect and victim did not appear to know each other.   The shooting happened at Chopsey Hill Road and Pond Street just after 9 a.m. The victim worked for Burns Construction company that was performing road work on Pond Street.   Witnesses stated that the suspect approached a company foreman and…

The Greens Farms Volunteer Fire Company will hold its 64th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4 on the grounds of Long Lots School, Hyde Lane, Westport at 2:00 PM. #Bridgeport Teacher Shaves Hair and Beard For Cancer

#Bridgeport CT--Bridgeport Police Press Release: Police arrested a suspect who fatally shot a construction worker this morning in the city’s North End.   “Officers reacted immediately and pursued the suspect on foot,” said Police Chief Joseph L. 3:22pm--#Bridgeport CT--Firefighters were called to 1078 Laurel Avenue for a house fire.  When firefighters arrived the found heavy fire on the second floor.  Deputy Chief Petrocelli told me the homeowner was home, the fire started in one of the bedrooms.  Firefighters as usual got a quick knockdown of the fire.  The fire marshal has been called to investigate.
