Street repaving in Bridgeport

City’s Downtown Road Improvement Project, which began on April 15, continues this week with the milling of Lafayette Boulevard, John Street and North Frontage Road. Milling on Lafayette Boulevard from North Frontage Road to John Street is currently underway and is expected to last through Tuesday, April 23. Paving of Lafayette Boulevard is expected to begin on Thursday, April 25. Milling of John Street from West Avenue to Water Street is scheduled to begin on Thursday, April 25. Paving of John Street is scheduled to begin early next week. Drivers should expect minor delays during this road improvement project.

Tax Protest in Bridgeport

#Bridgeport CT--A small group gathered outside City Hall on Lyon Terrace to protest the 6% tax increase. The rally was sponsored by the Bridgeport Republican Town Committee.  About thirty five protestors were on hand to protest the proposed six percent tax increase scheduled for Bridgeport.
