Norwalk News: Commercial Burglary

Norwalk Detectives are investigating a commercial burglary at Rowayton Pizza on Rowayton Avenue that occurred during the overnight hours on June 10, 2017. The suspect broke out the front window with rocks and then entered the business. Once inside the suspect took the cash register before fleeing in a small sedan, possibly a Toyota. Norwalk News: Norwalk Police K-9 Receives Donation

#Norwalk CT--Today Dr. Janice Duffy, Dr. Charlie Duffy and Sue Gabriele came to the Norwalk Police Department to present a check from the Norwalk Veterinary Hospital Fundraiser. The event, which was held in April 2017, raised money for the Norwalk Police K9 Unit and the Fairfield Police K9 Unit. The event raised $10,372.17 for the NPD K9 Unit.  The same group presented a check  to the Fairfield K-9 unit last week for the same amount.

New Enhanced Photos Of The Walmart Bank Robber

#Norwalk CT--Norwalk Detectives are investigating a bank robbery that occurred  May 12, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. at the First County Bank located at 700 Connecticut Avenue. The suspect entered the bank and handed the teller a note, implying she had a gun. The suspect is described as a light skin black female, in her late twenties or early thirties, approximately 5’4”, stocky build with short black hair pulled behind her neck in a bun or ponytail. The suspect was wearing black framed glasses and a blue Walmart employee vest. Fairfield Detective And Son Of Norwalk Mayor Arrested

#Fairfield CT--Fairfield Police Press Release: Over the last several weeks the Fairfield Police Department has been conducting both an internal investigation and a separate criminal investigation into the misappropriation of drug evidence by a Police Detective within the organization.   This investigation has culminated in the arrest on a warrant today of Detective Stephen Rilling, age 40, on the charges of Computer Crime 3 rd degree, Larceny in the 2 nd degree, Forgery in the 2 nd degree, Possession of Narcotics, False entry by an officer or agent of a Public Community and Tampering with evidence. Norwalk News: Person Shot

#Norwalk Police Update:  On May 18, 2017 at 11:50 PM, the Norwalk Police Department responded to multiple calls of shots fired in the area of 33 Orchard Street. A short time later, Norwalk Hospital reported that a male victim arrived at the hospital suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Norwalk Detectives responded to the scene and are actively investigating. Their preliminary investigation has revealed that the shooting was not random and that the victim was likely targeted, however he remains uncooperative. Norwalk News: Death Investigation Arrest

On August 16, 2016, the Norwalk Police Department responded to an unresponsive male medical aid call at 146 Silvermine Avenue, the Connecticut Department of Developmental Service Lower Fairfield Center. Thomas Lanza, a fifty- year-old resident of the facility was transported to the Norwalk Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is responsible for the planning, development and administration of complete, comprehensive and integrated statewide services for persons with intellectual disabilities. Norwalk Police Detective Dominick Cisero assumed the death investigation.
