Dog Loose On I-95

4:31pm--#Fairfield CT--Police have their hands full with a dog loose on I-95 right now just before exit 22 North Benson Road.  The dog was first loose and thought to be hit by a car near the rest area.  A good Samaritan stood by but the dog took off near the Edge Fitness Center on the highway wooded area.  Police now have the dog on the highway on I-95 just before exit 22 North Benson Road.

Radioactive Package is Legit

12:00pm ish--#Fairfield CT--Just before noon a routine traffic stop became anything but routine as the officer called for firefighters to Kings Highway East near Villa Avenue to help identify the package in the trunk of the car. Concerned with a radioactive sticker firefighters and police called in the state police and FBI. The package tuned out to be a device for determining soil depths. The driver did not know what the device was, he had borrowed the car from his brother. The brother was brought to the scene who produced paperwork of the device's legitimacy and that it was no danger to the public.

10:42pm--#Bridgeport CT--Report of a home invasion on Deacon Street. 2 masked Hispanic males forced their way into the home, one had a knife and the other with a piece of wood. Fairfield News: Smoke Causes Evacuation of Ludlowe HS

10:28am--#Fairfield CT--Smoke from a faulty air exchanger on the roof caused smoke to enter the music room area of Ludlowe High School prompting the evacuation of the school.  The students were brought over to Ludlowe Middle School where they stayed warm in the gym while firefighters investigated the cause of the smoke.  The student were allowed back into the high school in about an hour to resume exams.  Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Title was immediately on scene and coordinated efforts.  School exams are taking place this week and school was suppose to dismiss at 12pm but will now dismiss at 1:30pm.  Meals not normally provided on half days was provided since the day was extended.
