12:48pm--#Bridgeport CT--Firefighters on the way to a shed fire on Howard Court. UPDATE--Homeowner says she put the fire out with a garden hose but firefighters on the way to make sure the fire did not extend elsewhere or ensure there are no smoldering embers.
BRIDGEPORT, CT (June 25, 2013) – Mayor Bill Finch and Greater Bridgeport Transit officials urge City residents to come to the Greater Bridgeport Transit Main Bus Terminal at 710 Water St., to cool off on Tuesday, June 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. “High temperatures and high humidity are a deadly mix, especially for the elderly and those who don’t have access to air conditioning. I urge anyone who needs a place to cool off to come to the bus terminal or visit a local senior center or one of our libraries to stay cool today,” said Mayor Finch. 9:21pm--#Bridgeport CT--A pedestrian has been hit by a car at Park Avenue and State Street. EMS reporting serious injuries, detectives on scene which is never any good news.
6:22pm--#Bridgeport CT---Firefighters are on scene at 285 Maplewood Avenue to investigate a short circuit.
5:21pm--#Trumbull CT-- Report of a grill fire that is close to the house near the corner of Williams Road and Reiner Drive. Caller is reporting that there are flames shooting out of the grill.
Video Report- 2:44pm--#Fairfield CT #cttfire Just before 3pm construction workers outside the Ludlowe Health Care building struck a high volume gas line right near the building's main entrance at 118 Jefferson Street. Firefighters did meter gas inside the building so as a precaution residents facing the front of the building were evacuated to the rear of the building. Because of the serious nature of the call firefighters handled it as structure fire and sent additional resources to the scene. Workers from the gas company were quick to the scene and turned off the gas to the building.
