Dollar Tree Robbed At Gunpoint
10:12pm--#Bridgeport CT--The Dollar Tree Store on Huntington Turnpike was just robbed at gunpoint. A short masked gunman wearing a black hoodie and fled out the backdoor. Police arriving on scene.

Firearm recovered after foot pursuit
7:11pm--#Bridgeport CT--A brief foot pursuit with police on Cottage Street. It wasn't clear what the person was wanted for but he was tased and a firearm was recovered.
Kidnapping scare was attempted scam
6:06pm--#Fairfield CT-- A Greenfield Street resident received a call that her son was kidnapped and "he would not be released until the gave them money". Police and the detective bureau investigated and after a brief search found the son safe and sound. The phone call originated from Puerto Rico. This same scam happened last year to a Housatonic University student, police locked down a portion of downtown to find it too was a scam. If you receive a call from area code 945 there is no area code in the United States and if you Google the area code it is host to a number of scams so be ware of that area code!

Report of smoke condition in Trumbull
2:50am--#Trumbull CT #ctfire--Firefighters were called to 14 Hedgehog Circle for an odor of smoke. No answer at the door and possible forced entry to be made. UPDATE-- Home is filled with smoke due to burnt food. All occupants safely out of the house.
