Fairfield News: Person Killed After Being Hit By Train

UPDATE: Fairfield police said Daniel Scott Kurimsky of Shelton died after he was hit on Metro North train tracks around 12:45 a.m.  Police said Kurimsky worked Geronimo Southwest Grill and Tequila Bar which was open until 9pm. The Office of the Chief Medical examiner is ruling it an accident and the Metropolitan Transit Authority is still investigating the incident   1:00am--#Fairfield CT-- #MTA--A man walking on the tracks in the Fairfield/Southport area of town was killed.  The location was behind Lacey Lane, a private roadway.  The man was thrown into the Mill River which ran under the train tracks.   Assistant Fire Chief Roger Caisse told me that firefighters had deployed their Rapid Deployment Craft which assisted the firefighters in locating…

St. Vincent’s Hospital Opens Bridgeport Police Post In ER And Donates Life Saving Kits

#Bridgeport CT-- Wednesday, Ribbon-cutting for the new Bridgeport Police Post located at St. Vincent’s Emergency Room providing an improved sense of safety and reducing response time in the event of an emergency.   St. Vincent’s Medical Center Foundation presented the Bridgeport Police Department (BPD) with 400 individual bleeding control kits for its police officers, a donation valued at $40,000.  In the event that an officer suffers a gunshot wound or is otherwise injured in the line of duty, these kits will enable them to apply either self-aid or “buddy” aid to their partners.

Trumbull Weekend Pursuit

#Trumbull CT--Trumbull Police arrested five (5) teenagers in a stolen vehicle after they were involved in a theft at the Westfield Trumbull Mall and then led officers on a high-speed pursuit Saturday for several miles. The vehicle was finally stopped on Route 25 in Trumbull where police apprehended the four (4) juveniles and one 18-year-old from Hartford: Johnny Aspiliare.   The incident began when a mall employee reported that her bag was stolen from her as she sat inside her vehicle during her lunch break. A young male, later identified as a 16- year-old juvenile from Waterbury, reached into the vehicle and grabbed the bag off of the passenger seat through the vehicle’s open window. Bridgeport News: Bank Robbery

3:00pm--#Bridgeport CT-- As I was the first to report, at about 3 pm there was a bank robbery at Chase bank on Boston Ave. 123 Boston Ave. Female passed a note to the teller.  White female in her 20's thin, wearing a white t-shirt, black yoga pants, and a baseball cap.  No one injured. The robber made off with $500 cash and no weapon was displayed.
