Westport News: Cracking Crack Pipe Nets Charges

#Westport News: On 01/12/17 at approximately 2:15pm, Officer James Baker observed a vehicle traveling south on I-95 without a working left brake light. The vehicle was stopped, and the operator was identified as Charles Vosgueritchian. Vosgueritchian was asked to exit the vehicle, and he consented to a body search. Officer Baker located a crack pipe in Vosgueritchian’s pocket and placed it on the trunk. Vosgueritchian was handcuffed and advised he was being detained. Vosgueritchian then reached his handcuffed arms to the trunk area, and knocked the crack pipe to the ground. He then intentionally stepped on the crack pipe and broke it into multiple pieces. Westport News: Increased Car Thefts

(Westport, CT) The Town of Westport has experienced 9 stolen vehicles in the past 2 months. In ALL cases, the vehicle doors were unlocked and the keys were left in the vehicle. We have also experienced numerous vehicle break-ins during the month of December. In all cases of vehicles being entered, which resulted in thefts, the doors were unlocked. The recent thefts have occurred overnight. The Westport Police Department reminds you to please lock your car and bring your keys inside. Please remember to take valuables out of your car for the night, such as cash, purses, wallets and electronics. It is also good practice to keep outside lights on and motion lights activated. Westport News: Child Pornography Arrest Made

(Westport, CT) The Westport Police Department Detective Bureau was alerted to an inappropriate sexting relationship between Westport resident Paul Jude Letersky, age 47, and a juvenile from Colorado. On January 04, 2017, at approximately 5:00am, the Westport Police Detective Bureau executed a search warrant on Letersky’s home, 175 Riverside Avenue. Over 50 digital images of Child Pornography were discovered during the search. Based on this evidence, Letersky was arrested on scene for Child Pornography 1st Degree. An arrest warrant was also served on Letersky charging him with Enticing a Minor and Risk of Injury, stemming from the original complaint. On December 27, 2016, a 911 call was received from a Westport address. The caller did not say anything to the dispatcher, but the dispatcher could hear signs of a struggle in the background.  The dispatcher lost contact with the caller and upon calling back, a male answered the phone stating that there was no problem at the residence. However, this party sounded as if he was out of breath. Officers were dispatched to the home to assure that everything was okay, and upon arrival learned that there had been a disturbance. Westport News: Some Christmas Greetings

On 12/24/16 at approximately 12:30am, Westport Officers responded to a Twin Circle Drive address for an intoxicated male who was verbally fighting with the victim of this incident. Officers observed Robert Exner through the front kitchen window yelling at someone in the family room. Officers then observed EXNER walk towards the back door of the home where they ordered him to come outside. Officers learned that Exner was arguing with other people in the home, and during the argument, he threw several items. No one was injured during the incident. Westport News: Christmas Eve Snow…

On 12/24/16 at approximately 11:00pm, Westport Officers were dispatched to a Kings Highway South address on a 911 hang up call. Responding officers approached the residence and observed Andrew Kindt preparing suspected cocaine on the kitchen table and then snorting it. Officers made entry and observed Kindt sweep the remaining narcotics and paraphernalia into his pocket in an attempt to conceal it. Kindt later admitted to the cocaine use and that it was given to him by a friend. At that time, there were 2 juveniles in the home. Westport News: Fraud Investigation

#Westport Connecticut--At approximately 3:24pm on December 9, 2016, police were contacted by an employee from the Verizon Wireless Zone located at 385 Post Road East. The employee was reporting that a female customer had attempted to purchase a cell phone upgrade with what appeared to be a fraudulent New Jersey Operator’s License and a fraudulent credit card. The employee became suspicious of the transaction and attempted to take steps to verify the account holder’s identity. The store had also been notified by a Norwalk branch that the same female had also attempted an apparently fraudulent transaction at their store within the last hour.
