House of Hope Ribbon-Cutting to Kick Off 8th Annual Food Drive

#Bridgeport CT--St. Vincent’s Health Services and Aquarion Water Company launched their 8th Annual “House of Hope” Food Drive with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Running until November 16, 2018, the House of Hope aims to help reduce hunger throughout the Greater Bridgeport area.   In an effort to fight hunger with healthy foods, the organizers ask that only nutritious, non-perishable, non-expired items be donated. Last year more than seven tons of food were donated and organizers hope to surpass that total this year.   The House of Hope committee is taking a step beyond simply collecting foodstuffs by attempting to educate both recipients and donors alike about healthy food choices. Westport News: Multiple Charges

#Westport CT--On 09/13/2018 at approximately 1:45 am, an officer observed a vehicle slowly leaving the area of a car dealership lot without its headlights on. The officer attempted to effectuate a motor vehicle stop on Post Road East, but the operator disobeyed the officer’s signal and led the officer on a brief pursuit, which was terminated due to excessive speed. A short while later another officer located two males walking eastbound on Post Road West near where the pursuit had been terminated. They appeared sweaty and disheveled and could not explain their presence in the area. A third officer located the suspect vehicle nearby.
