Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo welcomes eight spur-thigh tortoises (Geochelone sulcata) who are making the Zoo their home for the summer. The African spur thigh tortoise, also known as the spurred tortoise, is the third largest species of tortoise in the world, after the Galapagos tortoise and the Aldabra giant tortoise. Bridgeport News: Pellet Gun Puts Bryant School On Lockdown
2:40pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A report of a girl bringing a gun to Bryant School on Poplar Street put the school in lockdown for a short period of time. Police located the girl outside of the school with a pellet gun. After a check of the school, it went from lockdown to lock in/out, which means no one is allowed in or out of the school. No students were in any danger.
