Bridgeport News: Capital Avenue Bridge Repairs

The City of Bridgeport  is alerting residents of repairs to the Capital Avenue Bridge over Rooster River that will temporarily close Capital Avenue from Laurel Avenue to Wood Avenue for six months beginning April 1, 2017. The purpose of this project is to replace the existing deteriorated Capital Avenue Bridge with a new structure that has low initial and life-cycle costs, minimizes the impacts to local residents, and requires minimal maintenance for the City.   The project will take approximately six months to complete which includes removal of the current structure, heavy construction, site cleanup, and miscellaneous work. Wesport News: Man Faces Assault and Drug Charges

#Westport CT--On 03/19/17 at approximately 4:30am, Westport Officers responded to 1510 Post Road East, the Exxon Gas Station, on a report of a 911 hang up call.  Westport Officer David Perez located a Allens Vardier in the store and immediately took him into custody.  Officers learned that Vardier came into the store demanding to buy a single cigarette.  When the clerk advised Vardier that they do not sell single cigarettes, Vardier went behind the counter and began assaulting the clerk.  Vardier then assaulted an elderly male in the store who was attempting to call 911.  Vardier appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance.  A brown leafy substance was located on Vardier which tested positive for PCP.  Based on…

Bridgeport News: Police Update On 3 Shot At Trumbull Gardens

#Bridgeport CT--On March 26, 2017 at 3:24pm, gunshots were fired at 615 Trumbull Ave Bridgeport, CT.  A dispute over a stolen dirt bike occurred at this location, and three male's were shot as a result of this dispute.  Two victims were dropped off at St. Vincent's Medical Center, and a third victim was treated at Bridgeport Hospital. Two victims sustained gunshot wounds to the abdomen, and the third victim sustained a gunshot to his foot. One victim underwent surgery last night, and all three victims are expected to survive. A search warrant was executed at 615C Trumbull Avenue last night to process a crime scene there. This incident is under investigation, and detectives will attempt to interview a victim today.
