Stratford News: Drug Arrest

#Stratford Connecticut--On December 6, 2017 investigators from the Narcotics Vice and Intelligence Unit completed an investigation into alleged cocaine sales in local bars. The investigation led to an arrest warrant for Evaristo Castro, age 56 of Bridgeport as well as a search warrant for Castro’s home at 295 Putnam Street (apt 1). Castro was taken into custody during a traffic stop and the search warrant executed immediately thereafter with the assistance of the Bridgeport Police Department. Seized was an SKS Rifle, approximately $18,749 dollars and 260 grams of cocaine.  Evaristo who is a convicted felon was charged with the below listed crimes. Westport Police: Stolen Car Arrest

On December 5th, 2016, Westport PD Officer’s Fearon and Sabin were working a side job on King’s Hwy. North, when they overheard a broadcast for a stolen car out of Stratford. The Officer’s observed the vehicle a short time later and stopped the vehicle without incident. The two occupants were detained and an investigation was initiated. The following suspects were arrested: Artay Drinks (DOB: 12/22/72) of 23 Murray St. in Ansonia Naima West (DOB: 07/27/1980) of 702 Central Ave. in Bridgeport and charged with the following crimes: Drinks was charged with Larceny 3 rd Degree and 21a-279a, Possession of Narcotics West was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 3rd Drinks is being held on $10,000 bond at Westport PD. Bridgeport News: Pedestrian Killed By Hit And Run Driver

Bridgeport Police’s Serious Crash Investigation Team was dispatched to investigate a motor vehicle versus pedestrian crash that occurred at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Pequonnock Street.  It occurred on  Wednesday evening , 5:44 PM,  on December 07, 2016.   Ismael A. Colon, 19, of Bridgeport walked across Washington Avenue when he was struck by a gray or silver SUV.  The SUV did not stop and fled north on Washington Avenue towards Coleman Street.  Mr. Colon, pedestrian, suffered head and brain trauma.  He passed away at Saint Vincent’s Hospital.  Mr. Colon’s family was notified.   The Serious Crash Team Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the collision to call (203) 576-TIPS or (203) 576-8477.  All information will remain confidential.
