12:40am--#Bridgeport CT -- An armed robbery in the 1300 block of Park Avenue near the laundromat. Police are looking for two Hispanic males, one with a red shirt, the other a white shirt. Tatiana Julitta Maldonado sent in this photo of the Bridgeport Mounted Patrol patrolling Trumbull Garden's today. I requested an interview regarding this and Bridgeport Police Department pressperson Tim Hammoll said the captain in charge of the mounted patrol said the patrol is being used throughout the city. There is a 1pm press conference in Chief Gaudette's office tomorrow public safety initiatives so I'll keep you posted.
5:45pm--#Bridgeport CT--Three calls in a row involving a child. A ten year old has a laceration on thier leg from an ATV behind Tisdale School at 250 Hollister Avenue. No word if the child was the rider or bystander. This report made possible by:
5:00pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Prayers needed for two children injured in two separate incidents. A teenage girl was hit by a car in front of 505 Trumbull Avenue. Moments later a child was burned in the 700 block of William Street, the mother is hysterical according to radio reports.

Mary-Jane Foster, candidate for mayor in the Democratic Primary, today called for an independent operational and financial audit of the city’s Tax Collector Department. “We are seeing very serious management deficiencies in this department, which is putting our precious tax dollars at risk,” the candidate said. “We have recently learned, only because of a police investigation, that the tax collector has a program whereby independent contractors are allowed to seize citizen’s vehicles, impound them, sell them at auction and keep the proceeds; doing so without turning any funds over to the tax collector and without detailed accounting for all these transactions. In a city where tax dollars are stretched so thin due to a stagnant tax base, we can ill afford this level of mismanagement,” Foster charged. Foster noted…
