9:50pm--#Fairfield CT-- A fire thought to have started in the furnace area of the basement spread upwards and out at 318 Pine Creek Avenue. Firefighters quick response kept it from spreading and kept the damage to a minimum. The fire marshal was called to investigate.

12:22am--Firefighters were called to 1014 Noble Avenue where a pile of clothes caught fire on the third floor, where they quickly put out the blaze. Firefighters said a man was transported to the hospital with minor burns.

#Fairfield CT--Developers broke ground on a multi-use area on Black Rock Turnpike at Commerce Drive, next door to Bigelow Tea which use to be the old Fitness Edge. The facility is looking to attract young professionals, commuters, empty-nesters with family ties to the community, who want urban conveniences, easy access to NYC with 101 residential apartment units comprised of 4 studios, 73 one- bedrooms, and 24 two-bedroom units. There will also be 14,900 square feet of retail space on the ground floor as well as a covered rear arcade. This development is projected to provide the town of Fairfield with 30-50 permanent jobs, 125-150 construction jobs according to a press release. A Spring/Summer of 2017 completion date is expected.
