Westport Burglary Arrest Made

#Westport CT---On Tuesday November 24th, 2015 Westport Police Detectives served two arrest warrants for Devon Groomes (age 34) of New Haven in Norwalk Court where he was being held on other charges. The two notable arrest stems from lengthy investigations into overnight residential and car burglaries by the Detective Bureau in July 2015. On July 21st 2015 the Westport Police Department responded to a residential burglary on Woodside Avenue. The victim had reported that his garage was entered and a bicycle was stolen. The bicycle had been recovered on a property of Patrick Lane on July 19th, 2015 and was turned over to the Police Department. (November 27, 2015) – Today, Mayor Bill Finch announced that he is reappointing Police Chief Joseph Gaudett Jr. to his post as the top law enforcement official in the state’s largest city.   Police Chief Gaudett was initially appointed to a five-year term – and his contract was approved by the city council – in December 2010.
