Bridgeport Police Arrest Robbery Suspect

#Bridgeport, CT – Oct. 7, 2014 – A 31-year-old city man was arrested Monday in connection with a commercial armed robbery. Detective Martin Heanue secured an arrest warrant for Jason Marrero on Oct. 1 related to an Aug. 5., 2014, robbery of East Coast Auto Parts at 14 River St., in which two individuals held up employees at the business. Police secured video footage from the scene and also a baseball hat that fell off one of the suspects during the robbery, among other items. As the investigation progressed, detectives developed information identifying Marrero, who uses the nickname J-Hood, as one of the people responsible for the robbery. Subsequently, technicians at the state crime lab secured a match for Marrero from DNA recovered from…

#Hartford CT-- Hartford firefighters have lost one of their own fighting a fire on Blue Hills Avenue. Three have been injured, one is being treated at Bridgeport Hospital. Fairfield News: Return of Trick-or-Treat on Safety Street

The Kiwanis Club of Fairfield proudly announces the return of Trick-or-Treat on Safety Street. It will take place Friday, October 31, 2014. This event offers a safe and comfortable environment for the children of Fairfield to dress up and trick- or- treat for Halloween. It is open to all Fairfield children up through elementary school who come dressed in their favorite costume. Merchants will offer treats from 2pm to 5pm and will display an orange Trick-of-Treat on Safety Street poster in their windows to show their participation. It will take place from the First Niagara Bank at Thorpe Street to Morgan-Stanley at the Brick Walk. The Kiwanis club will be selling hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks at their table on Sherman Green.
