Black Rock Armed Robbery

Bridgeport, Conn. (August 5, 2015) – This week, Bridgeport Police responded to a robbery with a firearm at 132 Arthur Street. Police arrived at the scene on Monday morning at 4:44 a.m. The victim – a 25 year-old female from Stratford – stated that she was dropping her son off at her mother’s house. After pulling into the driveway, the suspect came up to the driver’s side door and demanded the victim give up her purse. The victim gave up her purse and the suspect fled the scene. Bridgeport News; Heavy Police Due To New Chief

#Bridgeport CT--Earlier today Bridgeport Police Chief Gaudette along with the Make A Wish Foundation named Karla Hernandez honorary police chief for the day. A large motorcycle motorcade escorted the city's SWAT truck with Karla inside to Seaside Park for Karla to tour the stables and meet the mounted patrol. She also toured the park via ATV's and patrol car. Afterwards she visited Arthur's Famous Pizza on Park Avenue for dinner where she learned she will be gong to Disney World later this month. I will have a video report tomorrow. I moved this report up due to the many messages received regarding the heavy police presence!

Westport Firefighter To Fight California Wildfires

A Westport Firefighter left yesterday for Northern California to assist with the wildfires after Governor Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency. Assistant Chief Michael Kronick is joining the 20-person fire crew from the Connecticut  Interstate Fire Crew that is part of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. The D.E.E.P. maintains a roster of staff and personnel from local fire departments who are certified to fight wildfires, which in turn allows Connecticut to participate in a reciprocal aid program operated by the U.S. Forest Service. A.C. Kronick was last deployed in 2013 to assist Canada with a stubborn fire in the Northern Province of Quebec; he has also been deployed out West several times before.
