Westport News: 2 Busted For Prostitution

#Westport CT-- The Westport Police Detective Bureau with the assistance of Norwalk Special Services and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) tonight arrested two women for prostitution related offenses at a Spa in the Saugatuck area of Westport. The investigation began back in February of this year when the Westport Police Department Detective Bureau received information about the massage parlor offering sexual conduct for a fee.  Tonight after a two month investigation into the activities at the massage parlor, police executed a search warrant at the rented office space. As a result of the search warrant, evidence related to facilitating sexual conduct was seized. Additionally the message parlor was not licensed and the two women did not possess a massage license. Bridgeport News: Church Rectory Fire

1:20am--#Bridgeport CT--Once again, police on routine patrol discover a fire and report and get firefighters to the scene before damage could become more extenisve at St. Cyril Church at 50 Church Street.  A fire, possibly set in the dumpster extended into the boarded up rectory.  Firefighters did a search of the large building just in case there were any living inside.  It did not sound like they located anyone from radio reports.  The fire extended to the second floor and basement.  Firefighters quickly had the fire under control and extinguished.  There were no reported injuries.  The fire marshal was called to the scene. Bridgeport and Stratford Police Investigate Two Deaths The Bridgeport and Stratford police Monday are investigating two deaths and any potential connection. Earlier today, police investigating the disappearance of Minnie Lincoln, a 57-year-old Bridgeport woman, located human remains in a marshy area behind an industrial on Watson Boulevard in Stratford. Bridgeport and Stratford Police, with the assistance of the Connecticut State Police and the FBI, had been investigating her disappearance since she was reported missing on  March 31. Police developed strong leads and today began a search in the Watson Boulevard area and located human remains. Westport News: Restaurant Larcenies

On September 15th, 2014 the General Manger of the restaurant Post 154 located at 154 Post Road East reported that one of its employees had stolen money from the business. The investigation into the details of the larcenies revealed that the employee would void out items in the dinner checks which never made it to the bank. In total it was determined that the accused had stolen $35,794.55 over a 6 month period. It was also learned that the suspect had forged checks made out to former employees and then endorsing the checks herself, stealing the funds.   On April 3rd 2015 Officers responded to the Norwalk Police Department and took custody of Sarina Clark. Nonprescription Drugs Tax Free

Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced last week that as the result of a new state law he introduced and signed last year, nonprescription drugs and medications are exempt from sales taxes in Connecticut beginning today.   “Making nonprescription medications exempt from the sales tax will mean lower costs for consumers while ultimately leading to a better public health outcome for all,” Governor Malloy said.  “Preventative care is a necessity, and by eliminating these sales taxes, we are helping our residents save some money, stay healthy, and improve quality of life.”   “Connecticut’s leadership on healthcare means stronger families and a more competitive economy,” Lt.
