Fairfield News: Car Hits Building

3:01pm--#Fairfield CT--Police are investigating a crash that happened on Villa Avenue just past the car wash.  Apparently a crash forced the driver of the blue sedan to crash through a fence and strike the building at Greenfield Commons at 580 Villa Avenue. Reports indicate the responsible driver fled the scene.

4:11pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Police were called to the 200 block of Ellsworth Street for a man being chased by a woman with a baseball bat, the man is screaming for help. A minute later police receive a call at William and Armstrong Street for man beating a pit bull with a stick.  The man threatened people passing by asking him to stop.

Bridgeport News: Fire on Central Avenue

10:56pm--#Bridgeport CT--Just before 11pm Saturday night firefighters responded to a call of fire at an abandoned house at 1801 Central Avenue. When they arrived they found heavy fire at the roof line and were concerned about the flames extending to the building to the left of it. Firefighters quickly got control of the fire, I was there within ten minutes of the call and all visible flames were out on my arrival. There was concern about a homeless man living in the attic but primary and secondary searches of the home found no one in the building. The fire marshal is on the scene investigating.
