#Bridgeport, CT – Sept. 26, 2014 -- The Bridgeport Police Department’s Community Services Division will participate in the National Drug Take-Back Initiative with a goal of keeping our kids safe and protecting the environment. The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the public about the potential for abuse of medications. “Our primary concern is safety,” said Police Chief Joseph Gaudett. “We know the potential for abuse of prescription drugs. In many homes, medicine cabinets or kitchen cabinets are lined with bottles in reach of children and teens.” Often, people dispose of unused or expired medications by flushing them down the toilet. 4:00pm--#Trumbull CT-- Trumbull has posted a trifecta on car fires today. Earlier there was a car involved in a carjacking the day before was found on fire at the Westfield/Trumbull Mall on Main Street. A second call went out at 3:49pm to assist the fire marshal already on scene, in the overflow parking lot on the Madison Avenue side. We aren't sure if it is the same car from earlier. She was released on a promise to appear in Superior Court on October 7th. She and her lawyer Guy Soraes declined comment.
